A Pandemic Is Heading to the UK and Ireland
Following the buzz around its U.S. release last month, the first-person shooter film Pandemic will arrive in the UK and Ireland a week from today on DVD and VOD, and we have all the details you need right here!
From the Press Release:
Content Media/Platform Entertainment are set to release the virus breakout-themed thriller Pandemic (review) in the UK and Ireland on Monday, 23 May 2016. The first-person shooter movie stars Alfie Allen (“Game of Thrones”), Mekhi Phifer (Insurgent), Missi Pyle (Gone Girl), Rachel Nichols (Star Trek), Paul Guilfoyle (“CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), Danielle Rose Russell (Aloha), and Pat Healy (Captain America: The Winter Soldier).
Set in the near future, a zombie virus of epic proportions has overtaken the planet. There are more infected than uninfected, and humanity is losing its grip on survival. Its only hope is finding a cure and keeping the infected contained. Lauren (Nichols) is a doctor who, after the fall of New York, comes to Los Angeles to lead the charge in the hunt for uninfected civilian survivors. Lauren’s objective is simple – lead her team into the field and rescue survivors.
Lauren and her team – Gunner (Phifer), Denise (Pyle), and Wheeler (Allen) – put on their anti-contamination suits, complete with cameras so their experiences can be used for research, and leave the compound. But nothing could have prepared them for the mayhem they are about to walk into…
Pandemic (pre-order here) was directed by John Suits from a script by Dustin T. Benson and produced by New Artists Alliance founders Gabriel Cowan and John Suits. It was filmed on location in Los Angeles, CA, and was released in the U.S. in theaters and on VOD platforms by XLrator Media on 1 April 2016.
Suits says: “Growing up as a fan of first-person shooters, I’d always been fascinated by the concept of melding the perspectives into narrative storytelling. When I first came across the script for Pandemic, I was immediately hooked and desperately wanted to make the film. The actors had to treat the camera like a character. The cast was amazing and completely up to the task.”
Get ready for Pandemic when it releases in the UK and Ireland on major VOD platforms courtesy of Content Media, and on DVD through Platform Entertainment, on May 23rd!
