LAST WARNING!

….

Sources close to film and actress tell The Playlist that Waterston will be playing Ellen Ripley’s mother in Alien: Covenant, which is an amazing twist and true to Scott’s promise that the post-Prometheus prequels will eventually lead right up to the first Alien movie. But it should be noted that Waterston isn’t the lead of the movie, and it’s an ensemble piece like Prometheus.

Alien: Covenant hits screens on August 4, 2017.

The cast also includes Michael Fassbender, Billy Crudup, Benjamin Rigby, Demian Bichir, Danny McBride, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, and Callie Hernandez.

Specific plot details for the new film are being closely guarded; but it is believed to follow the crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet, who discover what they believe is an uncharted paradise but is, in fact, a dark, dangerous world, the only inhabitant of which is David (Fassbender), the “synthetic” and survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
