Who is your favorite horror icon? If the answer is anyone other than Freddy, there’s a good chance he’s soon coming back to the big screen. The alien hunter we first met back in 1987 is no exception, as the Shane Black-directed reboot/sequel The Predator will be unleashed in 2018. And filming begins soon.

As noted on the Director’s Guild of Canada’s current productions list, The Predator will step back in front of the cameras on September 26, 2016, and filming is expected to continue through December 20, 2016. The movie will largely be shot in Vancouver, Canada.

The Predator, which has a production budget of over $20 million, has been compared to Aliens, and we’re told that the titular monster will be given a brand new redesign for his big return. Additionally, it’s possible that both Arnold Schwarzenegger (as Dutch) and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson will star, but neither have been confirmed.

Written by Shane Black and Fred Dekker, The Predator will arrive in theaters on February 9, 2018.
