E3 2016: Gears of War 4 Trailer Shoots Saw Blades and Lightning at Swarms of Monsters
When we first saw Gears of War 4 at E3 2015, it looked like they were going for a slower, darker tone. The foes were more monstrous, environments decrepit and corrupted, and it all felt very foreboding. It was a mixed bag of emotions for me. More horror is always a good thing, but I love chainsawing Locusts in the nuts.
Well, it looks like I don’t have to worry about that second part, as the new trailer shows that there is plenty of sawing to be done in Gears of War 4:
Explosions, guns, badass soldiers ripping monsters apart? Sounds like Gears of War to me! What I really like about this trailer is the focus on environmental hazards. The most memorable level in the series for me was the shardstorm segment from Gears of War 2.
With the game launching on October 11th, we won’t have to wait long to see how it all pans out. I’ll have a full review for you when it drops.
