E3 2016: New Vampyr Gameplay Trailer a Feast for the Bloodthirsty

Like most people, when I first played Life Is Strange, I thought, “I really wish that this was an action RPG with life-sucking powers!” Then I went back and played their previous game, Remember Me, and all my prayers were answered!

I’m being a bit snarky, but everyone seems super surprised that Dontnod Entertainment, the people behind the episodic time manipulation fan favorite Life Is Strange, could possibly be developing the dark, gritty, combat-focused Vampyr. If you don’t know what Vampyr is, check out the new trailer they dropped at the PC Gamer event:

Now, I’m one of those odd creatures that thought Remember Me was pretty good, plot contrivances/imbalanced gameplay and all. So I actually trust the people over at Dontnod to do a pretty good job with the combat. From what we see, you hack, slash, dodge, shoot, bite, and spectral impale your way to victory. It’s all pre-alpha, so I really want to see how it all comes together in a more cohesive package.

We won’t see the full release until 2017, but luckily there is more news pending very soon, as I will be interviewing one of the developers of Vampyr this Thursday during the Focus Home Interactive showcase at E3 2016. In the meantime, let me know what questions you want asked, and tell me what you are looking forward to in Vampyr!
