On June 20, 1975, Jaws swam its way into theaters and left in its wake a damaging effect on the island tourism industry that is still felt to this day. Forty-one years later, millions of people are still so afraid of being gobbled up by a Great White that they refuse to step foot in the water, and that lingering fear is a testament to just how terrifying the film is.
The Steven Spielberg-directed film forever turned the summer months into Hollywood’s “blockbuster” season, and since today is not only the first day of summer but also the 41st birthday of our hungry pal Bruce, we wanted to pay tribute to one of the greatest horror films of all time with an image gallery that is sure to keep you out of the water this summer.
