The Shallows Scribe Boards a Haunted Ship with Mary
We’re still a little bewildered by the overwhelmingly positive response (of course Fini loved it) to the extremely Looney Tunes-like flick The Shallows (review), which goes from gritty survival tale to Syfy movie of the week at the drop of a dime; but hey, to each their own! Either way, the film’s writer has scored another notch in his belt!
According to Deadline, Tooley Productions just closed on Mary, a spec script by The Shallows scribe Anthony Jaswinski (who also penned Kristy and Vanishing on 7th Street). It’s a supernatural thriller in which a struggling family buys an old ship at auction with high hopes of starting a charter business, only to discover the boat’s horrifying secrets on the isolated open waters.
Tooley Productions won in a competitive bidding situation with multiple suitors in the mix; CEO Tucker Tooley is producing along with Scott Lambert and Alexandra Milchan.
More on this one as it comes; we can only hope that Mary contains at least as many scenes featuring flying flaming fish.
