Visit Island Red With Matt Serafini
Shark Week may be over, but our own Matt Serafini isn’t done with the festivities. His latest novel, Island Red, drops on Amazon today, and it promises to be required reading for horror fans.
Island Red is a fast-paced horror concoction. It’s Jaws meets Night of the Creeps meets Key Largo as the residents of a small Florida island find themselves up against much more than the ferocious frilled shark stalking the surrounding waters.
Island Red comes from indie publisher Severed Press. They’ve become a trusted name in literary “b-movie” horror in a very short amount of time. If you want creature features, zombie exploitation, or survival horror, then Severed’s probably got you covered.
Get the Kindle version of Island Red right here, or wait for the paperback, which will be available later this week. And check out the rest of Matt’s books if you haven’t gotten around to them yet.
Synopsis:
It’s a species that has been around for 80 million years. It has over 300 teeth in 25 rows to trap its prey. It has very rarely been found in depths above 160 feet, meaning the frilled shark has never posed a threat to humans. Until now…
The residents of Crystal Key, Florida, didn’t think there was anything to worry about. A missing girl with a troubled past was easy to dismiss, but that was only the beginning. When fishermen disappear and two girls are attacked on open water, everyone assumes the culprit is a predator stalking its piece of the Atlantic. But as an offseason hurricane descends and communications with the mainland are severed, Crystal Key is about to discover that terror doesn’t only come from below.
Hold your breath. Until it’s time to scream.
