Final Theatrical Trailer for Godzilla: Resurgence Will Have You Seeing Purple
We’ve seen Godzilla unleash red, white, and blue atomic breath over the years. Based on what we’re seeing at the end of the second and final full trailer for Godzilla: Resurgence, the King of the Monsters looks to be adding purple to his color scheme of mass destruction.
The 90-second new trailer for the Japanese Godzilla reboot (Godzilla: Resurgence to us, Shin Godzilla to Japan) boasts mostly new shots but still manages to be mostly more of the same of what we’ve seen from previous footage: a ghastly looking Godzilla leaving behind a path of destruction in its very slow-moving wake, tanks and attack helicopters fighting back, and lots and lots of talking heads set to dramatic music. But then at the very end the King of the Monsters goes… purple.
Maybe Godzilla is just paying homage to the late Prince?
July 29th is the date the Big G stomps Japan once more. Here’s hoping it does better than the other franchise relaunch with the subtitle “Resurgence” did this summer.
Synopsis:
After a mysterious accident occurs in the tunnels of the Tokyo Bay Aqua Line, Japan’s emergency cabinet convenes to find the cause and a solution. Immediately afterwards, a huge creature appears, destroying town after town on a path of destruction to the nation’s capital… an unfathomable giant organism known as “Godzilla.”
