More on The Walking Dead: First Production Photo and Zombie School Video
One thing’s for sure: AMC isn’t being shy about promoting its upcoming series “The Walking Dead”. Maybe it really will do for zombies what “Mad Men” has done for advertising! On tap today are the first production photo and a behind-the-scenes look at the show’s “Zombie School”.
From AMC’s “The Walking Dead” Blog: Zombies may appear helpless … but they are dangerous. Need proof? Check out this first production photo released from the set of AMC’s “The Walking Dead”, currently being shot in Atlanta, GA. Creator, director, and executive producer Frank Darabont says, “[Special make-up FX artist] Greg Nicotero is absolutely out-doing himself. The work he is doing is beyond what one could hope for. Our zombies kick ass!”

Next is the video: What does it take to transform human beings into members of the walking dead? Some serious training, according to executive producer Gale Anne Hurd. Learn how to act like a zombie (and check out some footage of roamers-in-training) as Hurd, writer/director Frank Darabont, special make-up FX artist Greg Nicotero, and zombie choreographer Matt Kent walk you through “Zombie School”.
“The Walking Dead” is based on Robert Kirkman’s popular comic series and will premiere on AMC in October, 2010 during the network’s annual “Fearfest”. It chronicles the months and years following a zombie apocalypse. Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey DeMunn, Sarah Wayne Callies, Laurie Holden, Steven Yeun, Michael Rooker, and Andrew Lincoln are all set to star.
