#SDCC16: Preacher Finally Sets Off to Find God in New Trailer
One of the biggest complaints we hear about “Preacher” from people who are fans of the comics is that what we’ve been seeing in Season 1 is basically just the backstory of what said comics are all about. Well, from the looks of this new trailer that was unveiled at the San Diego Comic-Con for the final two episodes of Season 1, they should be pleased because it seems things are about to change course as Jesse and his compadres finally turn to the task of finding God.
There’s some other pretty cool stuff going on in the video provided by AMC so scroll down and check it out below the synopses of the upcoming Episodes 1.09, “Finish the Song,” and 1.10, “Call and Response.”
Even though the show’s already been renewed for an expanded 13-episode second season, slated for 2017, we couldn’t get much intel about it from exec producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg during “Preacher’s” Comic-Con press conference, but we did glean a few tidbits from them, comic creator Garth Ennis, and co-stars Dominic Cooper, Ruth Negga, Joseph Gilgun, Ian Colletti, and Graham McTavish. We’ll have our full report shortly.
“Preacher” Episode 1.09 – “Finish the Song” (airs 7/24/16)
Jesse is on the run, while those around him face life-altering decisions. Meanwhile, the Cowboy returns to Ratwater to exact his revenge.

In the first season finale, it’s the day the entire town has been waiting for, as Jesse tries to follow through on his promise to get answers from Heaven.
