Southern California Sand Fire Claims Famous Filming Location

The raging wildfire dubbed the Sand Fire has claimed one of California’s most famed filming locations, Rancho Maria and Sable Ranch. According to Deadline, the locale has been used dozens of times to film both television and movies thanks to its unequaled seclusion and privacy, unhampered by smog or coastal fog.

Some notable horror projects filmed there include The Devil’s Rejects, The Haunted Mansion, Hatchet, “V,” Memoirs of an Invisible Man, Motel Hell, Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III, Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings, Midnight Movie, and “Supernatural.”

Here’s hoping this fire can be gotten under control soon, and we here at Dread Central would like to offer our sincerest of thanks to the many firefighters and professionals out there trying to do so. Stay safe, and god bless.
