Filming has wrapped on Ridley Scott’s prequel Alien: Covenant, and thus far, everything we’ve seen and heard has made us incredibly excited about the film. For starters, it will feature mostly practical effects, and now star Michael Fassbender is promising that it will be far scarier than Prometheus.

The tease comes courtesy of an interview with Collider.

It’s much scarier than Prometheus, but it’s got the same sort of scope of Prometheus,” Fassender described. “It’s kind of got more of the sort of thriller, imminent disaster feel that Alien had, so it’s kind of a beautiful meeting of both of those films. I’m really excited to see it; I think it’s gonna be super scary number one and then again with the massive scope of Prometheus.”

Once it starts and the ball starts rolling, it doesn’t let up,” he added. “It’s really gonna bring chills to the cinema.”

Alien: Covenant is headed our way on August 4, 2017. Along with the returning Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender, the cast also includes Danny McBride, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Benjamin Rigby, Demian Bichir, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, and Callie Hernandez.

Specific plot details for the new film are being closely guarded; but it is believed to follow the crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet, who discover what they believe is an uncharted paradise but is, in fact, a dark, dangerous world, the only inhabitant of which is David (Fassbender), the “synthetic” and survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
