In the vein of 11/11 and The Number 23 comes 13 Minutes. According to Variety, Netflix has picked up the movie rights to Sarah Pinborough’s young adult novel with Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, Michael De Luca, and Trevor Engelson producing.

The thriller was published earlier this year and centers on a popular high school student named Natasha. She’s discovered by a dog-walker, apparently drowned in a freezing river and dead for 13 minutes before starting to breathe again. Natasha had been the leader of the Barbies, but the other group members are now cool to her. She also begins seeing patterns of 13.

Schwartz and Savage, who created The CW’s “Gossip Girl,” are on board to write the adaptation and produce through their Fake Empire company. De Luca Productions’ executive Lucy Kitada is executive producing along with Fake Empire’s Lis Rowinski.
