Bigfoot just won’t stop killing. He is one angry hominid. The humongous hairy will be continuing his murderous rampage in two more Sasquatchploitation flicks on the way: Savage and Assault of the Sasquatch. We have an extended synopsis for one and DVD news for the other. Read this article now or else Bigfoot will stomp you next.

Let’s start with the extended synopsis and new poster art for a Bigfoot romp we’ve previously told you about: Savage, starring original Karate Kid foe Martin Kove and Freddy’s fourth and fifth foiler of his fiendish plans, Lisa Wilcox.

A blazing forest fire rips through Bear Valley National Park. As the firefighters try to contain it, the animals are being forced out of their habitat, including a beast that was better left undiscovered. Now several firefighters have gone missing and others have been found mutilated.

When word about the fire spreads, Dale, a scientist dedicated to proving the existence of Bigfoot, hires Jack, a local Bigfoot hunter, to help him track the beast. While Dale hopes to provide proof of the beast’s existence, Jack is looking for revenge.

Owen, an ex-cop turned park ranger, begins poking around, searching for poachers who might be interested in taking pot shots at the fleeing wildlife. He stumbles across Richard and Gabrielle, two petty criminals who are on the run from the law. Owen soon discovers that this simple arrest is anything but routine when he encounters the Bigfoot. As the creature tears through the forest, destroying everything and everyone it comes in contact with, Owen must race home to rescue his pregnant wife, who stands in the beast’s deadly path.

No release date yet for the fright flick directed by Jordan Blum, but there is now an official website for Savage. In addition to the usual movie website stuff, you’ll also find a game that predicts how you will die. Apparently I am such a sad loser that I will only achieve 15 minutes of fame by committing suicide jumping off a tall building as onlookers applaud. How prophetic. How could they have possibly known?

Fangoria, meanwhile, brings us the first word on the DVD release of Synthetic Cinema’s Assault of the Sasquatch. I reviewed the campy Sasquatchploitation flick that features a captured Bigfoot going all Assault on Precinct 13 on the cops and incarcerated poacher trapped inside an isolated police precinct and enjoyed some of it while being deeply annoyed by how juvenile a good deal of the humor was. You can judge for yourself when Assault of the Sasquatch (review here) stomps onto DVD shelves October 19th.

Retailing for $14.95, the DVD will boast a 2.35:1 widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound print, along with a series of extras: audio commentary with director Andrew Gernhard and the producers, featurettes with Internet critics and co-stars Don and Murph, a blooper reel, “Booty Poppin” music video, and trailers for this film and Synthetic Cinema’s previous release Banshee!!!
