M. Night Shyamalan Now Nameless on DevilSome interesting developments regarding M. Night Shayamalan’s forthcoming project The Night Chronicles: Devil. Universal has decided to tweak the title a bit to something less … attributed to.

According to Box Office Mojo the film will now be known simply as Devil. A safe move considering the crap The Last Airbender has been getting from critics and fans alike.

Devil is being produced by Shyamalan and Sam Mercer. It was the first pic in a deal between Shyamalan and Media Rights Capital to create Night Chronicles, a banner that will hatch one genre film per year for the next three years.

Chris Messina, Logan Marshall-Green, Jenny O’Hara, Jacob Vargas, Matt Craven, Bojana Novakovic, Bokeem Woodbine, Geoffrey Arend, and Caroline Dhavernas are all set to star.

The only thing that we know about the plot as it’s heavily under wraps is that Messina plays the lead role of Bowden, a sobered-up homicide detective.

Directed by John Erick and Drew Dowdle, look for the flick to arrive in theatres earlier than originally announced on September 17th (confirmed today by Shock Till You Drop, who also learned that Devil is “a supernatural thriller set in an elevator.”)

Keep it here for more soon.
