Is Max Landis Writing Remake of An American Werewolf in London?

Given its status as a bona fide horror classic, it’s somewhat surprising that 1981’s An American Werewolf in London, also known as the best werewolf film ever made, hasn’t yet been remade. It’s inevitable, of course, and the latest report is that Max Landis, son of John Landis, might be penning the script.

Over on Twitter last night, Landis (@Uptomyknees) hinted that he was scripting a remake of one of his dad’s films, and the folks over on Bloody Disgusting tracked down previous tweets where he had noted that the code-name for one of the projects he’s working on is “moors.” When you put those two tweets together, it damn sure seems like Landis must indeed be working on a remake of the werewolf classic.

Since I get the question all the time: There’s only one of my dad’s movies I’d ever be willing to try to remake and I’m already doing it,” Landis tweeted last night, shortly thereafter deleting the tease.

Earlier today, Landis was asked if the Bloody story was true, and he denied that it was.

Interesting. Very interesting.
