Rainn Wilson to Beat Off a Giant Shark in Meg
More casting news is here for Jon Turteltaub’s Meg, an adaptation of Steve Alten’s killer shark novel; and the cast continues to fill out. According to Deadline Rainn Wilson is the next actor on the menu
Warner Bros’ horror-adventure film centers on a huge shark from another time that wreaks havoc off the coast of present-day China. Wilson will play Jack Morris, a tech billionaire who funds an underwater observation program that unwittingly unleashes the Carcharodon megalodon – a 70-foot, 40-ton prehistoric cousin of the great white.
Jason Statham will portray a former Naval captain and expert deep-sea diver who’s recruited for a likely suicide mission — even though he faced the predator years before and was forced to abort his mission and abandon half his crew. Fan Bingbing, and Ruby Rose co-star.
Gravity Pictures will distribute the film in China, while Warner Bros. handles the pic throughout the rest of the world. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Belle Avery, and Colin Wilson are producing. Executive producers are Wei Wayne Jiang, Barrie M. Osborne, Randy Greenberg, and Gerald R. Molen.
Look for Meg on March 2, 2018.
