Jaws in Japan Surfacing in America in OctoberThe 2009 Japanese direct-to-DVD flick Jaws in Japan will be arriving on American DVD in October to bring us gaijin plenty of low budget bloody hijinks involving Japanese bikini girls, a killer shark, and a serial killer. Looks like these scantily clad gals won’t be safe on land or in the water.

Beautiful girls are in danger. Jaws in Japan lurks beneath the waves at Sunny Beach, waiting for its prey.

College students Miki and Mai arrive on a private beach on a tropical island. They can’t find the hotel where they booked their reservations and have gotten hopelessly lost until a handsome young man shows up, offering to take them to his lodge. But something is not right about the place. The owner’s fingernails are tainted with blood, and Miki feels something sinister lurking nearby.

Director John Hijiri’s Jaws in Japan reaches American shores on October 12th courtesy of Cinema Epoch. The 70-minute cheapie from the land of the rising sun will be presented in Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78 with English subtitles. With a cast consisting primarily of voluptuous Japanese models in bikinis (Nonami Takizawa, Nakajima Airi, Mika Inagaki) and the constant threat of a maneating shark in the water and a human killer lurking on land, something tells me most people watching will not be paying too much attention to the translated dialogue appearing at the bottom of the screen.

Not a whole lot of information on Jaws in Japan is out there, surprisingly, not even a trailer. But I did find this YouTube video that touts itself as a “making-of” video but sure looks like nothing but an excuse to show Japanese cuties jiggling about in bikinis. There is no English translation, but something tells me you won’t care.

We’re going to need a bigger bo…ttle of lotion!
