San Diego Comic-Con 2010: Check Out the First Footage from The GoonWe knew with Comic-Con right around the corner it wouldn’t be long until we saw or heard something from the Dark Horse, David Fincher, and Blur Entertainment project that will see Eric Powell’s The Goon brought to the big screen as a CG-anmiated film! Ready for the first footage?

For anyone who’s never read it, the Dark Horse comic follows a muscle-bound, stocky badass who fights demons, ghosts, werewolves and anything else the supernatural wants to throw at him. It’s a fun, romping adventure through a world filled with monsters, and CG is really the only way I could see it being done right.

Dark Horse is looking to develop the film in-house before handing it to a studio, which is a good way to make sure no one fucks with Powell’s vision and makes The Goon into, say, a 70’s-era jive-talking pimp or anything.

And oh yeah, David Fincher is producing, which can only mean good things. Check out the official Goon site to learn more about it!
