New Trailer for Wounded Embark of the Lovesick MindNow this is what we call an update! Gris Grimley is currently working on so many projects it’s hard to keep track of them all, but today he provided us with info on three of them, including a new trailer for his short film Wounded Embark of the Lovesick Mind and, even more exciting, his feature film Pinocchio, which is being produced by Guillermo Del Toro and The Jim Henson Company.

Wounded Embark is a surreal and nightmarish study of love and obsession; its synopsis follows:

Lovesick is infatuated with the one girl he believes to be his soul mate although Beauty, an independent playgirl, thinks otherwise. Lovesick’s delusional emotions and idiosyncrasies push Beauty out of her safety zone, causing the relationship to unravel. But when Lovesick is unable to cope with the loss and falls into a downward spiral, he turns to murdering his obsession in order to keep her.

Check out the new trailer below, and when you’re done, be sure to visit Grimly’s official site, Mad Creator, keep tabs on his blog, and follow him on Twitter!

As for his Pinocchio film, here’s the latest from Grimly, “I will be co-directing with a stop motion veteran (whose name is yet to be announced), and Nick Cave is on board to compose the original score. MacKinnon and Saunders are also involved in the puppet fabrication. There are interested voice talents that only add to how promising this project will be, but I cannot announce them yet.

Grimly’s take on the tale is a bit more perverse than usual and involves Pinocchio realizing upon his creation how much more fun it is to be bad than it is to be good, so he causes all sorts of problems for his creator before understanding what life is really about.

And what’s the third project he’s working on? Grimly tells us, “Along with development on Pinocchio and post production on Lovesick Mind, I will be shooting the opening for ‘Elvira’s Movie Macabre’ this weekend. I am busy as all hell but loving every ghastly minute of it.
