Shriekfest 2016 Announces Third Wave of Films!
The Shriekfest Film Festival, one of the premier international horror/sci-fi film and screenplay competitions, has announced the third portion of its 2016 feature film lineup; and we have the skinny on what to expect right here!

The Shriekfest Film Festival, an international horror/sci-fi film and screenplay competition, has announced the 3 more of its 2016 feature film lineup. Film festival director Denise Gossett says “We have a wonderfully diverse selection of amazing films from all over the world.”
The feature films selected thus far are listed below:
“Dead Awake” (WORLD PREMIERE)
Directed by Phillip Guzman & written by Jeffrey Reddick (Final Destination).
A young woman must save herself and her friends from an ancient evil that stalks its victims through the real-life phenomenon of sleep paralysis. Starring Lori Petty (Gotham, Masters of Horror, Freddy’s Nightmares, Bates Motel), Jesse Bradford (The West Wing, Hackers), Joceline Donahue (The House of the Devil, Insidious: Ch 2, The Burrowers), Brea Grant (Dexter, Halloween II, Heroes).
“Cold Moon”, (NORTH AMERICAN PREMIERE)
Directed by Griff Furst, written by Griff Furst, Michael McDowell, & Jack Snyder.
From the writer of Beetlejuice & The Nightmare Before Christmas.
A chilling tale of supernatural vengeance. Starring Madison Wolfe (The Conjuring 2, Scream: TV Series), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future, Dead Before Dawn, Piranha 3D), Robbie Kay (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Hannibal Rising).
“Teleios” (NORTH AMERICAN PREMIERE)
Written & Directed by Ian Truitner.
A deep space mining vessel has been adrift for two years. It is suspected the crew brutally killed each other, but the reason for the bloodbath is unknown. Starring Sunny Mabrey (Snakes on a Plane, Species III), Lance Broadway (Lucifer, Deadly Notes), T.J Hoban (Chimera, The Nurse), & Christian Pitre (Bounty Killer, True Blood).
“Parasites” (U.S PREMIERE)
Written & Directed by Chad Ferrin
Three friends find themselves lost on Skid Row and are captured by an angry homeless gang. Starring Robert Miano (Fast & Furious, Dungeons & Dragons), Paul Louis Harrell (The Ghostmaker, Zombie Ed, L.A Vampire), Joseph Pilato (Day of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Wishmaster, Pulp Fiction).
The festival will also showcase 42 outstanding and diverse international short films, covering just about every aspect of horror, sci-fi, and fantasy.
The Shriekfest Film Festival runs October 6 – 9, 2016. An opening night party will take place at Club Sinister in Hollywood; the rest of the festival will be at the iconic Raleigh Studios on Melrose Blvd.
Shriekfest, now in its “Sweet 16th” year, was created in July 2001 by Denise Gossett and has grown into the longest-running and one of the largest horror and sci-fi film festivals in the country. Since its inception, Shriekfest has offered young and upcoming writers, actors, and producers a chance to have their work screened and rated by peers.
