The Dark Fields Moves From Universal to Overture and Heads to Theatres
Sometimes a little shake-up is a great way to get things in gear. Such is the case with Neil Burger’s new fright film,
The Dark Fields.
According to Variety Relativity Media will be using Overture Films’ distribution and marketing operation to release The Dark Fields, instead of the previously announced Universal Pictures.
Dark Fields, directed by Neil Burger, stars Robert De Niro, Elizabeth Banks and Bradley Cooper and will now open March 18, 2011.
Based on the book by Alan Glynn, The Dark Fields follows a down-and-out writer (Cooper) who gets his hands on a top-secret pharmaceutical drug that makes one smarter. He experiences sudden financial and social success but soon discovers that the drug has lethal and lasting side effects. Before long, mysterious antagonists are pursuing him.
