Re-Animator: Evolution Coming in 2017?
For years it seemed as if the Re-Animator franchise was dead, but we never gave up hope that it would make like one of Herbert West’s subjects and come back to life as soon as a filmmaker applied the right serum. House of Re-Animator has been rumoured for years, but the reality of it happening seems about as likely as Lovecraft himself returning from the grave.
But it would seem that there’s another sequel in the works – just not the one we’ve all been hoping for.
Earlier That’s Not Current reported news that a new film, titled Re-Animator: Evolution, is currently in development for next year, and it’s set to star genre icons Lin Shaye and Brad Dourif. It’s being directed by Serge Levin, based on a script he co-wrote with Johnathon Schaech, who also stars in the movie.
Franchise stalwarts Jeffrey Combs, Brian Yuzna, and Stuart Gordon don’t appear to be attached in any way; and there’s very little information to be found online at this current time. Furthermore, the movie was originally titled Antihuman according to the Facebook page. Therefore, it might just be a repackaged zombie movie trying to capitalize on a franchise property. Rest assured, though, that we’re investigating it.
You can check the IMDb for more developments, but as always take everything from that site with a grain of salt.
