American Horror Story: Roanoke Twist Will Blow Your Mind; Creators Talk
Social media reaction to “American Horror Story: Roanoke” has, as always, been divided, but we’re now two episodes deep and I’m personally into what I’ve been seeing. Sure, it’s fairly generic and not all that exciting so far, but it feels like a story is being told, which is more than can often be said about the show.
And that story, well, it’s about to get SUPER CRAZY.
In an interview with EW, creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk teased a HUGE twist.
“You’ll see starting in Episode 6, the show has a huge turn, and the thing that you think you’re watching is not what you’re watching,” said Ryan Murphy.
“Even though the subject matter has gotten out, it’s irrelevant because nobody gets what we’re doing,” added co-creator Brad Falchuk. “No matter what you think it is, it’s not that. Then, Episode 6 comes, and you’re like, ‘Wait! What happened?’”
He basically considers the season as three unique stories. “It’s like [Episodes] 1-5, 6-9, and 10 is its own thing,” Falchuk noted.
The docudrama-inspired “AHS: Roanoke” stars Cuba Gooding, Jr., Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Lily Rabe, Denis O’Hare, Wes Bentley, Evan Peters, Cheyenne Jackson, Lady Gaga, Adina Porter, and Andre Holland.
