Malcolm McDowell to Bare his Fangs as Vlad in Vamps
And the cast of Amy Heckerling’s horror comedy Vamps just keeps on growing. We usually hate humor with our terror and would rather see vamps tearing throats out instead of mugging for the camera, but this one seems to be moving along just fine.
Marilu Henner (“Taxi”, “Evening Shade”), Zak Orth (The Other Guys, Wet Hot American Summer), and Malcolm McDowell (pictured right; Clockwork Orange, Halloween) will be joining the previously announced Alicia Silverstone, Krysten Ritter, Sigourney Weaver, Richard Lewis, Kristen Johnston, Wallace Shawn, Justin Kirk, Dan Stevens, and Todd Barry for a little toothy mayhem. In a stroke of obscure genius, McDowell will play Vlad the Impaler, aka Dracula!
Written and directed by Heckerling, Vamps tells the modern day tale of two young beautiful female vampires (Alicia Silvestone, Krysten Ritter) living the good nightlife in New York until love enters the picture and each has to make a choice that will jeopardize her immortality.
