Hammer’s The Woman in Black Casting News – Not Being Shot in 3D
Some (as far as we’re concerned) good news coming out for Hammer’s upcoming adaptation of the Susan Hill book and Dread Central favorite, The Woman in Black. Turns out the flick won’t be shooting in 3D after all, which suits the subtle tone of the book. Oh, and I bet you’re looking for more casting news as well? We’ve got you covered, kids!
According to Deadline London Ciarán Hinds (pictured right) and Janet McTeer have joined the previously announced Daniel Radcliffe in the ultra spooky flick. Hinds will play the local landowner who counsels Daniel Radcliffe as he investigates this Victorian mystery. McTeer will play Hinds’ on-screen wife, Mrs. Daily.
To be directed by James Watkins (Eden Lake) and written by Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass, The Debt), The Woman in Black follows a young lawyer, Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe), who is ordered to travel to a remote corner of the UK and sort out a recently deceased client’s papers. As he works alone in an old and isolated house, Kipps begins to uncover its tragic secrets, and his unease grows when he discovers that the local village is held hostage by the ghost of a scorned woman set on vengeance.
Shooting begins September 23rd.
