Because the next big screen installation of Resident Evil, Paul W.S. Anderson’s Resident Evil: Afterlife, is hitting theatres this weekend in glorious 3D, we want to reflect back on what the films and the original video game series have meant to millions of fans out there.

I rarely post, but since this series has left such an imprint on me (one of my fondest memories with my family is playing a Resident Evil video game with my nephews while they were younger – yes, I was the cool uncle), I wanted to share what some of the more talented folks out there have created. The images below are in no particular order, and this list is in no way exhaustive. While they may not be for everyone, the images are definitely SFW. And if you make it all the way to the very end, you’ll be in for a wonderful treat.

Meanwhile, don’t forget to check out the new Resident Evil: Afterlife coming out on Friday. The movie stars Milla Jovovich as Alice, Ali Larter as Claire Redfield, Wentworth Miller as Chris Redfield, Sienna Guillory as Jill Valentine, Boris Kodjoe as Luther West, and Shawn Roberts as Albert Wesker.

Official Synopsis:
In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice (Milla Jovovich) continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety.
