Will Supernatural’s Winchester Brothers Take on The Vampire Diaries and Twilight?

During the “Supernatural” panel at this past summer’s San Diego Comic-Con, Jensen Ackles brought down the house with his promise that he “will be killing some vampires properly this year. Cut this pasty, waify shit out!” Does that mean the Winchester brothers might be taking on The Twilight Saga or even their sister show on The CW, “The Vampire Diaries”?

Sera GambleNew “Supernatural” showrunner Sera Gamble (pictured) chatted recently with Entertainment Weekly‘s Michael Ausiello and had this to say about that:

“I don’t think there’s currently a [Vampire Diaries] mention in the episode [which spoofs vampires], but part of the thing is finding a balance between, say, [showing] a poster from the actual show and having Sam and Dean really speak their minds. We don’t want to offend… I’m certainly not coming at this from a place of feeling superior… I have great respect.”

To that end, Gamble suggests, if the Brothers Winchester end up “saying something disparaging” about a particular fang-centric franchise — like, for instance, Twilight — the target will be “slightly fictionalize[d].”

Sounds pretty hilarious to us. Part of “Supernatural”‘s appeal has always been how it straddles the line between fact and fiction, and we’re glad to see that’s not about to change with Gamble in the driver’s seat.

Be sure to tune in to the Season Six premiere on Friday, September 24th, and for more visit “Supernatural” on The CW.
