There’s no doubt about it… director Bernard Rose’s take on the Clive Barker tale featuring the titular Candyman character, played masterfully by Tony Todd, is a favorite amongst genre fans. The sequels? Not so much. Still, one can hope for a good one eventually, right?

In a recent interview with Art of the Title, Rose stated some interest in making a new and proper sequel to his original film.

I would love to do the proper sequel. There are all sorts of reasons why it’s never happened. I think it would be great, but of course unfortunately I don’t control the rights; otherwise, I would just do it.

Would you dig that? Of course you would, and Rose urges that as fans you should “talk it up.” Check out the whole interview at the above link. It’s great stuff!
