The Hellraiser franchise has enjoyed life in different forms throughout the years.  Starting off as the novella The Hellbound Heart, it would then go on to become one of the longest running film series in horror history, with the latest instalment, Judgement, set for 2017.

But throughout the years the mythology has also been explored and expanded in spin-off novels, short stories and, of course, comic books.  And now thanks to Clive Barker’s Seraphim Inc., we’ll be getting more of the latter this coming spring.

According to the fine folks over at The Clive Barker Podcast, the news was broken at Stan Lee’s LA Comicon Comikaze panel.  The new anthology will feature stories from a host of exciting talent, including Ben Mears and Rebekah and Dave McKendry.

Check out all the information below, and be sure to watch the trailer with the outstanding Doug Bradley voiceover.

From the Press Release:
Clive Barker’s Seraphim, Inc. proudly announced Hellraiser: Anthology, an original graphic novel based within the world of Clive Barker’s Hellraiser, at a panel at Stan Lee’s LA Comic-Con. Seraphim Ink, Seraphim’s publishing branch, will be producing the comic in-house and distributing it via Barker’s online store, www.realclivebarker.com, both as a hardcover print edition and as a DRM-free PDF download.

The graphic novel, due out in Spring of 2017, will be Seraphim’s first solo foray into the world of comics, and will feature several short stories from several creative teams. Seraphim’s Creative Executive, Ben Meares (main contributing writer of Hellraiser: Bestiary), is handling the editing and production of the anthology, as well as serving as its main writer. Joining him on the writing duties will be Seraphim’s Christian Francis (Hellraiser: Bestiary), Blumhouse’s Rebekah and Dave McKendry and POW! Entertainment’s Matt Murray. Mark Alan Miller, the Vice-President of Seraphim, Inc., as well as the writer of Next Testament and The Steam Man, will be contributing a short prose story that will be featured within the anthology as well.

Daniele Serra (Hellraiser: Bestiary, Fade to Black, Joe Lansdale’s I Tell You It’s Love), Sam Shearon (X-Files, Clive Barker’s Books of Blood motion comic), Jim Terry (The Crow: Skinning the Wolves, Sundowners) and up-and coming artist Riley Schmitz are amongst the artists contributing to the anthology.

“We chose to publish this anthology in-house for one main reason,” said Seraphim, Inc.’s Vice-President Mark Miller. “It frees us to tell stories that are entirely uncensored. Hellraiser, as a film and comic book franchise, has always needed to be censored to one degree or another. By producing this comic in-house, and distributing it straight to Hellraiser fans via our web store, the wide array of talented people on the book are free to tell the stories they want to tell, and dig as deep into their twisted imaginations as they please. And, let me tell you, the experience has been utterly freeing for all involved, and that creative freedom bleeds through the pages of this anthology.”

Hellraiser: Anthology is will be available on www.realclivebarker.com in Spring 2017.
