Vampires, Zombies, Monsters, and More at the 2010 New York Comic Con

The schedule for the upcoming New York Comic Con, taking place October 8th-10th at the Jacob K. Javits Center, is starting to take shape so we thought we’d give you a heads-up on some of the more horror-centric panels that have been announced so far in addition to the one we already mentioned for “The Walking Dead” happening on Sunday, the 10th at 2:15 pm in the IGN Theater.

  • How to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse
    Date: Friday, October 8
    Time: 2:15 pm – 3:15 pm
    Location: Room 1A23

    The police will tell you to they have it handled. The government will tell you everything’s under control. The media will tell you it’s all hype. They will all lie to you. Learn how to defend yourself from the undead threat. When the world abandons you, you’ll be ready.

  • IDW – Sneak Peek at 2011

  • Monsters – Behind the Scenes (Magnolia Pictures)

    Gareth Edwards, writer/director of the critically acclaimed Monsters, explains the process of making a film on a small budget and his use of visual effects. He breaks down some key scenes in the film and explains the effects he created step by step.

  • James Marsters Spotlight

    James Marsters may best be known for the role of Spike, the cult favorite punk-goth vampire that he played for six seasons on the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but he’s done a whole lot more! Don’t faint in this spotlight panel!


  • Corey Feldman Offers a Glimpse of Lost Boys: The Thirst

    Everybody’s favorite Frog Brother, Corey Feldman, presents a sneak peek of Lost Boys: The Thirst, the latest high-energy, action-packed adventure in the ongoing franchise.   • Do Zombies Dream of Undead Sheep?

    That should be a good start for any NYCC attendees looking for some genre action. Keep in mind there are also screenings and lots more happening over the weekend so be sure to hit up the official New York Comic Con site, and keep your eyes open for Dread Central’s Nomad, who will be there as well.
