Undesirables Committed to Boarding School
School is about to get a lot scarier as Deadline is reporting that IM Global has acquired international rights to Boaz Yakin’s horror thriller Boarding School produced by Maven Pictures co-founders (and prolific filmmakers) Trudie Styler and Celine Rattray along with Scott Lochmus (The Joneses) and Jason Orans (Goodbye Solo).
Currently in post, the film stars Will Patton (Remember the Titans), Samantha Mathis (American Psycho), Sterling Jerins (The Conjuring series), Luke Prael (Boy in a Backpack), and Tammy Blanchard (The Good Shepard, Blue Jasmine).
The story is described as a horrifying fable about an ominous boarding school where children deemed “undesirable” are committed. Twelve-year-old Jacob Felson (Prael) is sent away by his stepfather to the mysterious school run by a peculiar couple, Dr. Sherman (Patton) and his dominating wife (Blanchard). When one of the students is found dead, Jacob begins to suspect something much more sinister is going on than education.
Executive producers are Jonathan Gray, Jeffrey Arsenault (OGCP), Hadar Burger (OGCP), Dillon Jordan, Marco Vicini, and Jordan Schur.
