Slash Slashing His Way into Horror Filmdom with Slasher Films
Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash looks to be striking the same tune as Rob Zombie but not in the musical venue. The guitar icon is forming his own horror movie production company, Slasher Films, and its first announced film swears there is Nothing to Fear.
Deadline Hollywood provides the exclusive word on what we can expect from Slasher Films and its first production:
They will produce edgy contemporary horror fare with a nod to the thrillers of the ’70s and ’80s. They’ve set up their first: Nothing to Fear, a horror/thriller that follows a young family as it tries to reinvent itself by moving to a small town in rural Kansas. The family is tormented by an ancient demon with an insatiable blood lust. The script was written by Jonathan W.C. Mills, who’s currently working on the Gold Circle pic Inside Passage.
Slasher Films is the result of Slash’s partnering with Scout Productions (“Queer Eye for the Straight Guy”, Session 9) with Scout Productions developing the screenplays for their horrific outings.
According to Slash the goal of Slasher Films is to “take you back to the days where horror movies actually scared the hell out of you.” He continues with, “My audience is made up of young, edgy, discerning consumers with an appetite for quality and a hint of anarchy.”
