A Serial Killer in a Frog Costume Laughs in the Rain in Japanese Film Museum

If any other country released a movie about a serial killer in a frog costume, people would laugh it off as an absurdist pile of nonsense, but somehow the Japanese were able to pull it off without descending into campy territory. Titled Museum (Myûjiamu) and based on the manga Museum – The Serial Killer Is Laughing in the Rain by Ryosuke Tomoe, it opened in Japan on November 12 and has currently earned a pretty decent $6,273,592, as reported by Box Office Mojo.

We brought you the first trailer and poster back in March, and now you can enjoy the latest marketing materials for this incredibly weird looking film below. The first video is pretty NSFW, by the way.

Directed by Keishi Ōtomo and starring Shun Oguri, Machiko Ono, and Satoshi Tsumabuki as the frog costume clad-psycho, it’s been drawing comparisons to David Fincher’s Seven, so we’ll keep our ears open for news of an international release so we can decide for ourselves whether such comparisons are truly justified.
