The Birds Joins 24 Other Films Selected for 2016 National Film Registry
The National Film Registry (NFR) is the United States National Film Preservation Board’s (NFPB) selection of films for preservation in the Library of Congress, and each year the NFPB adds to the NFR up to 25 “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant films” showcasing the range and diversity of American film heritage to increase awareness for its preservation.
This year’s selections include one sole horror film, but it’s a biggy: Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds.
