AFM 2010: A Serbian Film Gets US Distro and More!
The “feel good movie of the century”, A Serbian Film, has caused quite a stir around the world during its festival run, and ever since word starting spreading about how crazed this flick is, we’ve been wondering how, or even if, it would get distro here in the States. Wonder no more.
DC just caught up with Invincible Films at AFM, and they clued us in on the following – they’re planning on distributing A Serbian Film in US theatres possibly starting as early as February, 2011. The movie will be cut down to an R for its nationwide release (mind you, we have no idea how that’s even possible), and the uncut version will be shown in limited theatrical release at smaller art-house type theatres as well as released on DVD.
But wait … there’s more! Invincible Pictures also has an exclusive deal with Showtime to show the R-rated version. They’re also going to be rolling the film out on video on demand and (hold on to your asses) on mobile devices via a service called FlixFling. You know, so you can carry the carnage with you wherever you go.
Look for more soon!
