Michael Biehn Takes on Directorial Role with The Victim
Interesting news coming out of the camp of the indie feature The Victim. It seems as if actor Michael Biehn has flexed his directing muscle as well on this latest thriller.
From the Press Release:
Michael Biehn is best known for his captivating roles on-screen, but you can now add a new title to his long list of credits. The lead actor of THE VICTIM is now also helming the role of director in the much anticipated psychological thriller.
“Throughout my career Iʼve worked with some of the greatest directors of all time, like James Cameron, William Friedkin,” Michael says. “Iʼve gotten the chance to really watch the best at work…but Iʼve come to learn Iʼm a maniac on set. Iʼm so passionate I get really intense, and I think thatʼs how I get the best performance out of my cast.”
This is Michaelʼs first leap into the directing chair since his career began in the 1970s. During the filming of THE VICTIM, he also played the lead role of Kyle. These two very demanding roles kept Michael deeply involved in a project that he says is very close to his heart.
“While finishing THE DIVIDE, I saw someone reading Rebel Without a Crew, and I decided I wanted to make a Grindhouse movie,” Michael says. “I set out along with Jennifer Blanc to find a screenplay I could exploit in a Grindhouse fashion; hot girls, sex, drugs, torture, dirty cops and a serial killer thrown in for good measure.”
THE VICTIM is a psychological thriller that introduces you to Annie (Jennifer Blanc), a woman fleeing the grip of two attackers. She finds solace in the arms of Kyle, a recluse living in the middle of the woods. But as you get a glimpse into the lives of these complex characters, you will find yourself wondering who is THE VICTIM?
The film stars Michael Biehn (Grindhouse/Terminator), Jennifer Blanc (Dark Angel), Ryan Honey (Hallowed Ground), Denny Kirkwood (Never Been Kissed), Tanya Newbould Skyline), Dana Daurey (Robot Chicken), Alyssa Lobit (The Things We Carry) and Danielle Harris (Rob Zombieʼs Halloween) as Mary.
Brock Morse will continue with his contributions to the film as executive producer. THE VICTIM completed principal photography in Los Angeles last year and is happy to announce a partnership with BLT and Parlay Media.
