As we told you a few days ago, the folks behind the animated web series “Xombie” (Epic Level Entertainment) have a new live-action zombie comedy series called “Bite Me”, and now we have the web series’ poster and a more detailed synopsis to share.

Through “Bite Me,” Machinima.com is leveraging the passion of zombie culture from its gaming audience by playing with the concepts of gaming in entertainment and weaving together a five-episode series that debuted December 3, 2010. To bring the series to the Web, Machinima.com partnered with video game publisher Capcom to integrate the video game Dead Rising 2 into the story and established the characters as habitual gamers and zombie experts. By bringing on board Epic Level Entertainment, an experienced production company with expertise in genre franchises, Machinima.com and Epic Level have produced a premium live-action series that speaks to gamers and the broader audience.

“Bite Me” Synopsis:
Three gamers find themselves in the midst of a real life zombie outbreak. Relying only on the knowledge and skills they have accrued over years of gaming, these guys will have to drop the controller and pick up anything that they can use as a weapon. If they can survive, these unlikely heroes may just be humanity’s best hope of surviving the undead uprising.

The group is made up of Jeff, Mike, and Greg, who by day are a waiter, cubicle jockey, and street sign spinner respectively. They’re lifelong friends who are coming to a fork in the road – embrace adulthood and turn off the video games, or say screw it and play on. As luck would have it, those video games are about to save their lives and quite possibly the world as a whole.

It’s now up to these video game experts to defend the world against the zombie apocalypse, by any means possible.
