68th Annual Golden Globe Awards Nominations Announced

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominees for its 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards this morning, and it looks like vampires are out but zombies are definitely in as “The Walking Dead” replaces “True Blood” among the Best Television Series – Drama nominees.

68th Annual Golden Globe Awards Nominations AnnouncedSince we started with television, let’s continue in that category before we get to the theatrical nominees. “Dexter” is a repeat nominee, earning nods for Best Television Series – Drama; Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama for Michael C. Hall; and Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for Julia Stiles.

Moving on to motion pictures, Black Swan nabbed four nominations: Best Motion Picture – Drama; Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for Natalie Portman; Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture for Mila Kunis; and Best Director – Motion Picture for Darren Aronofsky.

Since we’ve mentioned 127 Hours a few times on the site, here are its three nominations as well: Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for James Franco; Best Screenplay – Motion Picture for Danny Boyle and Simon Beaufoy; and Best Original Score – Motion Picture for A.R. Rahman.
