Gantz Live Action Film Set to Hit the Big Screen January 20, 2011
On Thursday, January 20th, 2011, comic book collectors, anime aficionados, and film fans will have the opportunity to participate in the one-time-only, world premiere of Gantz in movie theaters across the country, presented by NCM Fathom and New People, in association with Dark Horse Comics.
Synopsis:
Gantz, directed by Shinsuke Sato, tells the story of two recently-deceased friends who find themselves serving a mysterious black orb in a twisted afterlife game. Along with other abductees, the two men are armed with futuristic weapons and sent back out into the living world to do battle with aliens in the hopes of winning their freedom.
Originally popularized as a popular Japanese manga and anime series, Gantz will hit the big screen as a live-action feature at 8:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. CT/6:00 p.m. MT/8:30 p.m. PT (tape delayed). Following the feature, Gantz’s two leading actors, Kazunari Ninomiya (Letters from Iwo Jima) and Kenichi Matsuyama (Death Note, Detroit Metal City), will participate in an exclusive live interview that can only be seen at this event.
