Trailer and One-Sheet Debut for Kickstarter Funded Feature – Absentia
We really try to limit the amount of films we cover that fall under the banner of Kickstarter (projects that the public funds via donation) because 99% of the time they never happen. There is that one percent though …
Mike Flanagan’s Absentia is one of those rare films that reached its set goal cost and got made. It’s really bitchin’ to see that happen! Below you’ll find the plot crunch, one-sheet, and trailer. Let us know what you think by sounding off in the comments section below.
Synopsis
Tricia’s husband has been missing for seven years. Her younger sister Callie comes to live with her as the pressure mounts to finally declare him ‘dead in absentia.’ Tricia is reluctant, always holding out hope, but Callie is practical and wants her to move on. As Tricia sifts through the wreckage and tries to move on with her life, Callie finds herself drawn to an ominous tunnel near the house. As she begins to link it to other mysterious disappearances, it becomes clear that his presumed death might be anything but ‘natural.’ It seems that the ancient force at work in the tunnel might have set its sights on Callie and Tricia … and Tricia’s husband might be suffering a fate far worse than death in its grasp.
