Nicolas Cage Promises a “Completely New Experience” in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance
While Nicolas Cage was out and about promoting Season of the Witch, which open this weekend, of course the subject of his upcoming Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance came up; and the star not only gives us some insight into the filming style of directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor but also promises a “completely new experience” compared to the original.
While chatting with the UK Press Association, Cage had the following to say:
Working with Neveldine and Taylor was a true adventure. “They’re not like anybody else I’ve worked with. They do things with the camera that are just extraordinary.” He added: “They’re brand new. The director’s on rollerblades and hanging from wires with the camera, holding on to the motorcycle, and it’s going to be really wild.”
The star also promised the sequel, Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance, would be quite different from the first film. He said: “[It’s going to be] very different. I mean there’s even a new origin sequence.”
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance also stars Idris Elba, Johnny Whitworth, Violante Placido and Ciaran Hinds. The movie finds Johnny Blaze, aka Ghost Rider (Cage), hiding out in remote Eastern Europe and struggling to repress his curse. Blaze is recruited by a sect to take on the devil (Hinds), who wants to take over his mortal son’s body on the boy’s birthday. Its scheduled release date is February 17, 2012.
