Death on Scenic Drive Poster Paints a Beautifully Sinister Picture

A new poster for Death on Scenic Drive has been released and can be seen below, courtesy of Coming Soon. The poster is a delightful piece of art, using basically three colors (black, purple, and white) to create an image that immediately identifies the film as being in the horror genre, yet doesn’t fall into the trap of standard poster clichés.

In fact, something about it reminds me of British and Italian horror, though I can’t put my finger on why…

Directed by Gabriel Carrer (The Demolisher) and starring Stephanie Ash and Ry Barrett, Death on Scenic Drive puts forth an interesting premise: What if you turned into Death itself?

Below are some behind-the-scenes photos from the film’s Facebook page.

Speaking with Coming Soon, Carrer explained:
“The film is about death with a few gruesome surprises. This is literally about the manifestation of death and if death was an actual entity that could possess someone. How would it adapt? I had this idea about demonic possession but did not want to tread the territory of the religious occult too much, so I explored the greatest threat to everyone and everything. This is a terror film. It’s about a woman named Larissa, played by Stephanie Ash, who is undergoing certain changes in her life, then having an encounter with an unknown entity. The paranoia, nightmares, fears, anxiety, and violence that perpetuated from Larissa’s character becomes a big melting pot that explodes. It was a very intimate film shoot. It became surreal and very visceral at some points working with the Stephanie, Ry Barrett, and our incredible cinematographer, Scott McIntyre. We had the freedom to do anything at any time with no constraints.”

Death on Scenic Drive just wrapped principal photography and is now in post-production. There is no official release date yet.
