Our friends at Camp Motion Pictures have announced a rather retro sounding new DVD-On-Demand service that should be of interest to those you who are fans of films that fall on the “niche” side of the fence.

Do people even watch DVD’s these days?  If you’re the type who still likes to hold media in your horror-loving hands, then read on!

Things kick off with the classic Gothic horror-inspired Vampyre and The Drowned, directed by Bruce Hallenbeck, and the comedy-horror parody Paranormal Investigation Agency, directed by Chris Seaver. New titles will be added quarterly.

From the Press Release:
Home entertainment label Camp Motion Pictures has announced a new initiative to bring ultra-niche and deep catalog programming to the market via the launch of a new DVD-On-Demand Series. Featuring professionally authored DVDs with interactive menus and extras, the series seeks to introduce – or re-introduce – previously lost, forgotten, or overlooked independent genre programs to potential fans at a competitive price point, while ensuring physical inventory is perfectly aligned with customer demand.

As with all Camp releases, the On-Demand DVDs will include extras in the form of commentaries, behind-the-scenes featurettes, and/or interviews.

Here are the first three films:

Vampyre (1990) – First time to DVD! Traumatized by vampires as a young man, David Gray grows into an adult dedicated to fighting the bloodthirsty forces of evil. He’s called to the remote New England village of Cortempierre, in which innocent humans have become the victims of witches and vampires. Includes feature, commentary by director Bruce G. Hallenbeck, and trailer. Vampyre is also streaming on free Amazon Prime (rental and purchase if not a Prime member).

The Drowned (2006) – First time to DVD! A gripping psychological ghost story along the lines of The Others, The Haunting, and Let’s Scare Jessica to Death.  The Drowned tells the story of Kate Williams, who inherits her grandmother’s cottage on a remote lake. There she encounters apparitions that seem to emanate from a submerged church where a congregation drowned over 100 years ago. But as Kate is drawn deeper and deeper into the tragic history, she finds she is ill-prepared to unravel the horror that is THE DROWNED! Includes feature, commentary by director Bruce G. Hallenbeck, and trailer.  The Drowned is also streaming on free Amazon Prime (rental and purchase if not a Prime member).

Paranormal Investigation Agency (2017) – First time to Home Entertainment! A hilariously low-brow spoof in which an incompetent but well-intentioned group of ghost hunters tackle a series of paranormal mysteries with mixed results. Directed by Chris Seaver, the mind behind Sexquatch and Mulva 2: Kill Teen Ape! Includes feature, behind-the-scenes mini-documentary, trailer vault.  Paranormal Investigation Agency is also streaming on free Amazon Prime (rental and purchase if not a Prime member).
