The Persistence Brings Outer Space Horror to PlayStation VR

Whilst it seems likely that EA have discontinued the Dead Space franchise due to the lukewarm sales of Dead Space 3, we’re still getting a brand new outer space horror game in the form of The Persistence, which UK-based developer Firesprite are developing exclusively for PlayStation VR.

The game’s title refers to the eponymous research vessel, which has been sent into deep space to study a collapsing star. After a freak accident wipes out the crew, the ship’s computers attempt to resurrect those killed by reconstructing their DNA, but screws up the process and creates a legion of mutant freaks instead.

Sony Computer Entertainment’s social media director Sid Shuman wrote up an article about The Persistence on the PlayStation Blog, and although there’s no release date as of yet.
