Scorn Could Be the Most Disturbing Game of 2017
Move over Agony, because Scorn now looks like the most twisted and fucked up game of 2017.
Developed by Ebb Software, Scorn takes its visual inspiration from the nightmarish designs of H. R. Giger and the paintings of Zdzisław Beksiński. Finding yourself unexpectedly thrown into an incredibly disturbing dream-like looking world, you’ll be tasked with finding a way to escape whilst exploring the non-linear environments. To quote Pinhead, this game has “such sights to show you”.
The first trailer has been viewed over 17 million times, so there’s clearly a huge market for this kind of mind fuck.
Scorn successfully given the greenlight on Steam was recently announced to be part of Humble’s debut publishing lineup, with the official website promising regular updates before the game releases in two parts later this year.
Synopsis:
Scorn is an atmospheric first-person horror adventure currently in development by Ebb software studio.
Scorn is an atmospheric first-person horror adventure game set in a nightmarish universe of odd forms and somber tapestry. It is designed around the idea of “being thrown into the world”. Isolated and lost inside this dream-like world, you will explore different interconnected regions in a non-linear fashion. The unsettling environment is a character itself. Every location contains its own theme (story), puzzles and characters that are integral in creating a cohesive lived-in world. Throughout the game you will open up new areas, acquire different skill sets, weapons, various items and try to comprehend the sights presented to you.
