See the Colorful Character Posters for American Gods
Earlier today we let slip the synopses for the first four episodes of Starz’s “American Gods,” but the network asked us to hold off on any spoilers until a bit closer to the show’s premiere date so stay tuned for those to be re-posted in mid-April.
To make up for it, we can instead share this colorful, neon-inspired look at 10 of the show’s main characters in poster form courtesy of showrunner Bryan Fuller. Have a peek at Ricky Whittle (Shadow Moon), Kristin Chenoweth (Easter, aka Ostara), Emily Browning (Laura Moon), Ian McShane (Mr. Wednesday), Pablo Schreiber (Mad Sweeney), Orlando Jones (Mr. Nancy), Yetide Badaki (Bilquis), Crispin Glover (Mr. World), Peter Stormare (Czernobog), and Bruce Langley (Technical Boy).

“American Gods” is an adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s acclaimed contemporary fantasy novel of the same name. The plot posits a war brewing between old and new gods: the traditional gods of mythological roots from around the world steadily losing believers to an upstart pantheon of gods reflecting society’s modern love of money, technology, media, celebrity, and drugs.
“American Gods” is produced by FremantleMedia North America. Bryan Fuller (“Hannibal,” “Pushing Daisies,” “Heroes”) and Michael Green (“The River,” “Kings,” “Heroes”) are writers and showrunners. David Slade (“Hannibal,” The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) directed the pilot and additional episodes.
Synopsis:
When Shadow Moon is released from prison, he meets the mysterious Mr. Wednesday, and a storm begins to brew. Little does Shadow know this storm will change the course of his entire life. Left adrift by the recent, tragic death of his wife and suddenly hired as Mr. Wednesday’s bodyguard, Shadow finds himself in the center of a world that he struggles to understand. It’s a world where magic is real, where the Old Gods fear both irrelevance and the growing power of the New Gods, like Technology and Media. Mr. Wednesday seeks to build a coalition of Old Gods to defend their existence in this new America and reclaim some of the influence that they’ve lost. As Shadow travels across the country with Mr. Wednesday, he struggles to accept this new reality and his place in it.
