Exclusive Early Details on Indie Anthology Terror Bytes
Writer/producer/director Michael Emanuel dropped us a line today to let us know production has wrapped on the upcoming horror omnibus thriller titled Terror Bytes. High School Musical‘s Corbin Bleu is co-producing and appears in one of the film’s segments, marking the star’s first foray into the horror genre.
Synopsis:
With Korean vampires, Mexican zombies, Cajun conjurers, and the Irish undead…or as the producers like to call it, “just another night in the City of Angels”, Terror Bytes tells four multi-ethnic, interwoven stories that all take place in and around Los Angeles. According to Emanuel, “It’s the horror version of Robert Altman’s Short Cuts as characters from each segment intersect with the others.”
Corbin Bleu’s segment, titled “Clowned”, tells the story of a young street hustler (Bleu) who gets bitten by a clown at a birthday party and begins to undergo a Kafkaesque metamorphosis with horrifying consequences.
Also starring are international film star Domiziano Arcangeli, Bill Oberst Jr., Elizabeth DiPrinzio, Christopher Darga, Alexandra Choi, Charles Rahi Chun, Andrew Caldwel, Shawn Caulin Young, and Nicole Moore.
Terror Bytes marks the directorial debut of highly respected 2nd unit cinematographer Igor Meglic (The Borne Ultimatum, Salt, Resident Evil) as he directed the Emanuel-penned segment titled “Taejung Lament”. Bob Badway (The Uninvited) wrote and directed the segment titled “Re-Membered”.
Terror Bytes is produced by Emanuel’s Canal Street Films and David Reivers and Corbin Bleu of Bleuman Entertainment. Multi-hyphenate Ski-Ter Jones serves as executive producer on the project. The producers are eying a fall 2011 release.
