UPDATE: The Lord Abides – Jeff Bridges to Play Exorcist in The Seventh Son
“Whadja puke on the carpet for, man? It really tied the room together, ya know? Now it’s gone. That’s it! I cast thee out, man!” Oh, how I wish this one could play out just like that! The devil is going to once again get his cinematic due, but this time he’ll be facing off with his greatest enemy yet … The Dude!
According to Just Jared Jeff Bridges has signed on to star as Exorcist Master Gregory, aka “The Spook” in the upcoming horror flick The Seventh Son.
Bridges will star opposite Alex Pettyfer and Jennifer Lawrence in Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ adaptation of Joseph Delaney’s young adult series The Last Apprentice.
The film, formerly known as The Spook’s Apprentice, follows Pettyfer’s character of Tom Ward, who is training to be an exorcist and possesses the unique ability to see and hear ghosts as well as smell the presence of death. Trouble begins when he’s tricked into releasing the most evil witch in the world. Gotta hate when that happens.
UPDATE
Bloody Disgusting has confirmed that production is set to begin on August 1st in South Africa with Sergei Bodrov (Nomad, Mongol, Yakuza Girl) directing from a screenplay by Max Borenstein.
Look for more soon, man.
